Roger Scruton, Professor of Philosophy, writes in the Spectator, that as long as school has additional goals than being a distributor of knowledge, it will not improve. The solution is to liberate the school from political goals. While leftist additional goal is to make the school a part of their social engineering of society, the right, on the other hand, focus on maintaining the economic level in a world of competition. This is also the basic political warzone of the school’s development that good teachers, pupils and parents have to handle. With continual reforms and other changes in either the left or right direction, which too often has made knowledge and understanding a secondary goal.
