Latest News: Europeans more interested in eBooks but VAT-rules are a solid obstacle

While growth of the eBook-market in US and Canada is stabilising on a mature level the European eBook-market that is lagging far behind, e.g. because of VAT-rules, is showing promising growth, research shows. In Italy 4.5 million people read at least one eBook during the last year. In UK that is the largest eBook-market in Europe 30% of all books sold was eBooks 2014. The eBook-market in Europe that generates the most revenue is the German where 25% of the Germans read eBooks on a day to day basis, while Poland shows a strong growth in amount of eBook-readers but the revenue is lagging behind, again VAT-rules is one of the main obstacles.
