Latest News: Teaching Math within a Classroom on the other side of the world

Microsoft is now launching “Teach Reach”, which is an initiative to inspire teachers all over the world to try new approaches to educate. Two teachers of Mathematics in secondary school where one is from Norrtälje in Sweden and one is from Beijing in China is the first to try Teach Reach. They will teach each others classes for one day. However, they will still be located in their home location. The teaching will be transferred via a robot with Microsoft technology including Skype translator. Loke Palmkvist, the father of the initiative and in charge of school and higher education at Microsoft in Sweden gives the following vision: “Teach Reach is a method that will focus on exactly that, where technology can break barriers, open up the world and inspire to new ways of teaching. In order to make it possible for teachers to be able to focus on what they are most excited about – to teach.” Source: Microsoft News
