The society that is developing after the industrial society often has been described as the knowledge society. Since the engines in this society are the individual’s knowledge and skills. This furthermore means that lifelong learning never has been as important as it is today. In addition technological development makes education take new shapes with new methods. Gretchen Rubin is analysing this development in her new book “On managing yourself” and how to make learning more automatic. Her main advices are to identify what you need to learn, both give yourself time to think big and small as well as figure out what you envy and try to accomplish a better version of what you envy through refining your knowledge and skills. The second advice is to make learning habitual and force yourself to stay on track with your goals. Your personal learning path should be integrated in your everyday life.
