Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) at MIT launching the first system to allow users to design, simulate and build their own custom drone. This should be seen in the light of that US government has made much easier for companies and consumers to use drones.  Users can customize the size, shape and structure of their drone based on their requirements of payload, cost, flight time, battery usage etc. MIT Professor Wojciech Matusik comments: “This system opens up new possibilities for how drones look and function. It’s no longer a one-size-fits-all approach for people who want to make and use drones for particular purposes.” The project was supported by the National Science Foundation, the Air Force Research Laboratory and the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program.
